Get ready to grow with us! This fall, USNN is hosting two exciting Native Plant Giveaway events to launch our new “Adopt a Tree” initiative — a movement to inspire urban greening, habitat restoration, and community connection to native species across New Brunswick. Email us for more details: info@usnn.ca !

🌳 What is the “Adopt a Tree” Initiative?

This initiative invites individuals, families, schools, community groups, and local businesses to join us in expanding green spaces by planting and caring for native trees and shrubs. It’s a simple but powerful act that nurtures both land and community.

Each participant will receive:
✔️ One or more native plants to take home
✔️ A Plant Info Sheet explaining the species and its role in local ecosystems
✔️ A Planting & Care Guide to help your new tree thrive
✔️ An Adopt a Tree Brochure to explore how your small act of stewardship contributes to a healthier environment

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Who Should Attend?

Everyone is welcome! These are family-friendly events open to all:

  • Home gardeners 🌻
  • Community organizations 🏫
  • Local schools 🧒🏾
  • Daycares and youth groups 👧🏽
  • Businesses looking to green their space 🏢
  • Nature lovers 🌿

We especially encourage participants to suggest planting locations in their neighbourhoods — schoolyards, parks, front yards, or community green spaces. Let’s grow together!

💚 Why Native Plants?

Native plants are essential to our ecosystems. They:
🌼 Provide food and shelter for local wildlife
🌱 Improve air and soil quality
🌳 Increase resilience to climate change
🌾 Support pollinators like bees and butterflies

By planting native, you’re helping preserve New Brunswick’s natural heritage.

Let’s plant the seeds of change — one tree at a time.
Come celebrate community, nature, and the power of growing green.
