We’re currently seeking an EcoSteward Program Innovator (Project Coordinator) to support the implementation of environmental stewardship initiatives across New Brunswick. Position Summary
The EcoSteward Program Innovator will work closely with the Project Manager to coordinate and deliver USNN’s conservation and education programs. This includes organizing fieldwork and community events, supporting data collection for terrestrial and aquatic ecosystem monitoring, creating digital content for public engagement, and ensuring the smooth delivery of climate adaptation and nature-based solutions projects. This is a remote contract position with a strong possibility of extension based on performance and funding availability. Weekly responsibilities are submitted via bi-weekly timesheets.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and support project activities across multiple environmental programs
- Assist in planning and implementing field-based data collection, habitat assessments, and environmental monitoring
- Organize events, workshops, nature walks, and educational sessions
- Assist in documentation, reporting, and internal communications
- Support social media outreach, content development, and digital storytelling
- Maintain organized records and support evaluation efforts
- Engage with youth, educators, and community members in promoting climate resilience
- Contribute to a collaborative, culturally grounded, and innovative work environment
Required Qualifications
- Aged 23–30 years (required for funding eligibility)
- Resident of New Brunswick
- Enrolled in or graduate of a post-secondary program in Environmental Science, Education, Ecology, Sustainability, or related fields
- Fieldwork or data collection experience (terrestrial or aquatic monitoring preferred)
- Knowledge of environmental issues, Indigenous knowledge, and climate change adaptation
- Experience with social media (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn)
- Strong communication, time management, and teamwork skills
- Willingness to travel occasionally for fieldwork or community events
- Self-motivated and able to work remotely with minimal supervision
Assets
- Valid driver’s license and access to transportation
- Experience with Canva or similar design tools
- Bilingual (English and French)
- Experience working with Indigenous communities
- Knowledge of GIS, environmental field equipment, or data management tools
