Jennifer Medd
Jennifer is the Project Coordinator and Youth Engagement Lead at United Spirit Nature Network (USNN), an environmental nonprofit dedicated to community-led conservation and ecological education. Based in Vancouver, she is passionate about building meaningful connections between people and the natural world, especially through youth programming and community-driven sustainability initiatives.
As an early-career environmental professional, Jennifer brings energy, creativity, and a collaborative spirit to her work. She is currently involved in two USNN projects, coordinating outreach, logistics, and educational resource development. In her role as Youth Engagement Lead, she designs and delivers accessible programs that empower young people to explore environmental issues, connect with nature, and take meaningful action in their communities.
Jennifer’s interest in youth engagement and leadership began during her time at Queen’s University, where she served as President of the Environmental Science Student Council. In this role, she led a team of peers in organizing events, advocating for student needs, and promoting sustainability on campus—experience that continues to inform her approach to inclusive and empowering environmental education. Prior to joining USNN, Jennifer supported nature-based shoreline management through her work with the Stewardship Centre for British Columbia’s Green Shores program, an experience that strengthened her commitment to sustainable land use and community-driven conservation. Collaborating with Relay Education at an elementary school in Burnaby, BC, she delivered science and energy conservation presentations—an experience that further deepened her passion for environmental education.
Jennifer holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science from Queen’s University and is currently a mentee with ECO Canada as part of her Environmental Professional-in-Training (EPt) designation. She is committed to living a sustainable lifestyle and supporting others in doing the same. Whether hiking the trails around Vancouver or co-developing lesson plans, she approaches her work with care, curiosity, and a strong commitment to environmental stewardship.
