Starla McDougall
Starla McDougall is a proud member of the Passamaquoddy First Nation and a passionate advocate for Indigenous education and cultural revitalization. With extensive experience in community engagement, mentorship, and curriculum development, as a principal, Starla plays a vital role at the New Brunswick Indigenous Career College (NBICC), where she supports the development of culturally grounded learning environments for Indigenous learners.
Through her work, Starla ensures that traditional knowledge, community values, and land-based teachings are integrated into academic programs. She is known for her ability to build meaningful relationships with learners, educators, and Elders, and for her leadership in promoting inclusive, Two-Eyed Seeing approaches to education. Starla is also a valued partner of the United Spirit Nature Network (USNN), contributing her knowledge to environmental stewardship and youth leadership programs across New Brunswick.
